Tuesday, 15th of November 2016, in Brasov, took place the third conference of the Federation of Social NGOs in Transylvania, event organized in partnership with the Prefect Institution Brasov, Brasov County Council, Brasov Municipality – Social Services Directorate and General Directorate of Social Assistance and Child Protection Brasov. The conference had as main theme “Social innovation for an inclusive society”.
At the dynamic event, considered by the participants an event with “soul”, participated over 100 persons, among which, guests of honour such as: Ms. Ana Rădulescu – Minister Counsellor, Ministry of Labour, Family, and Social Protection, Ms. Izabella Ambrus – Vice-president of Brasov County Council, Mr. Harald Fratczak – Vice-consul of Federal Republic of Germany Consulate in Romania, Ms. Mariana Topoliceanu – General Director of Brasov Social Services Directorate, Carol Ambrus – Vice – president of Brasov Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Catalin Frangulea – Program Director from Brasov Metropolitan Agency.
During the session dedicated to models of good practice and action, were presented: the model of the Agapedia Network from Romania, Bulgaria, Germany and Moldavian republic dedicated to the wellbeing and assistance of children and families; Day centre for assistance and recovery for the disabled persons of Brasov Social Services Directorate, steps made by Transylvania Association for Promoting the Mentally Ill for decentralizing psychiatric wards in hospitals from Cluj Napoca and Turda; combination of protected workshops for mentally ill (farm, second hand shop, greenhouse – from Christian Foundation Diakonia from Sfantu Gheorghe; development of the complex Centre of “Casa Sperantei: Brasov, dedicated to assisting victims of domestic violence and survivors of natural disasters; and a special project of Brasov Chamber of Commerce and Industry for labour market integration of young people and encouragement of entrepreneurship.
During discussions, new perspectives were explored so that the social sphere participants will have a better understanding of different types of interventions in the social field, form providing specialized social services, to informative and educational activities. It was also confirmed that the Federation will continue its endeavour of developing new social services and will assume change and sustainable development together with professionals from social NGOs, public authorities and potential financers.
